Haider Ali caught and bowled by Mark Wood

A wagging tail gets Pakistan to a decent score of 145 all out. It’s not adequate by any means, but a respectable one. Once again, their innings was all about Mohammad Rizwan, who notched up yet another fifty. He ran out of partners by the end of it, with eight of Pakistan’s batsmen managing only single-digit scores. Mark Wood, with his raw pace, was the wrecker-in-chief as he finished with 3/20 in his quota of four overs. Overall, it was the short balls that undid the Pakistani batsmen. There’s a lot of dew around, and it is going to require something really special in the powerplay to restrict England in what seems like a manageable chase.
