Young Harry Brook dismissed for 12 on Test debut

Marco Jansen was superb as he took the first four wickets of England innings. Kagiso Rabada was listless in his first spell, but he and Anrich Nortje ensured that the hosts didn’t run away with the game. 70 overs, 272 runs and 17 wickets – it’s been an action-packed day. England’s lead is 36, useful but not match-winning just yet. They’ve batted a bit poorly to let the visitors off the hook, especially after having been the beneficiaries of the conditions with both bat and ball. Harry Brook looked good for his 12 but became Jansen’s fourth victim of the day.

Earlier, Ollie Robinson bagged his third Test fifer while Stuart Broad picked up four wickets as they hastened South Africa’s collapse to 118 on Day 3 of the third Test at The Oval.
