Cameron Green’s 89 bails Australia out of choppy waters

It was a low scoring thriller to kick off the Trans-Tasman rivalry, at Cairns. Australia started off poorly as Trent Boult trapped Aaron Finch in just his second over. The swinging ball made life difficult for all of Australia’s top order, as Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner fell cheaply. Things went further downhill when Marcus Stoinis was knocked over by Matt Henry to leave the hosts tottering at 44/5 shortly after the first PowerPlay. But then out walked Cameron Green to join Alex Carey, and the duo bailed Australia out with a 158-run stand, Australia’s highest sixth wicket partnership ever against the Kiwis.
