Taskin Ahmed takes a blinder to put Bangladesh on top

Chasing a tall total of 184, Sri Lanka held their nerves to gun down the target in 19.2 overs against Bangladesh and qualified for Super 4 at the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka’s chase was lifted by opener Kusal Mendis’ 37-ball 60 and skipper Dasun Shanaka’s 33-ball 45 as they did not let the pressure-cooker environs get the better of them. Bangladesh were superb in the field, backing up their strong batting effort. Afif Hossain (39) stitched a 57-run partnership with Mahmudullah after Bangladesh were tottering at 87 for four after Mehidy Hasan Miraz (38) had earlier given them a flying start.
