Sri Lanka win thriller to reach Super Four in Asia Cup

Sri Lanka piggyback over Bangladesh’s indisciplined bowling to get over the line in the Asia Cup Group B game and reach the Super Four stage. The Bangladeshi pacers Ebadot and Taskin troubled Lanka’s top-order a lot, as they were reduced to 77/4 after nine overs. But opener Kusal Mendis with skipper Dasun Shanaka fought back for the islanders. It was calculated aggression at its best from Sri Lanka, as they stayed ahead of the curve despite losing wickets. Bangladesh were superb in the field, holding onto tough chances to dismiss Mendis and Shanaka at the end, but the chasing side found another saviour in Chamika Karunaratne.
