Jadeja, Hardik see India through in tense chase

Hardik Pandya’s all-round brilliance (3-25 & 33* off 17) saw India through in a tense chase as they registered a five-wicket win against arch-rivals Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2022 opener in Dubai on Sunday, August 28.

India used the short ball ploy to great effect to rock Pakistan’s top and middle-order, at the heart of which was Pandya’s game-changing second spell that sparked a collapse of 7 for 41. Bhuvneshwar picked up 4-26 – the best T20I bowling figures for India against Pakistan, limiting the opposition to 147. India were wobbling at 89/4 in the 15th over when the all-rounder combined with Ravindra Jadeja (35 off 29) to seal the deal.
