Keegan Petersen and Rassie van der Dussen did a fine repair job as they denied England any wickets in the second session on Day 3 of the Manchester Test on Saturday. The fourth wicket pair, having blunted more than 250 deliveries in the partnership, helped South Africa to 141/3 at Tea, still 123 runs adrift. Only 53 runs were scored in the 29 overs that were sent down in the session as Petersen and Van der Dussen, with their unbroken rock-solid 87 run-stand, frustrated the England bowlers a great deal.
Brief scores: South Africa 151 & 141/3 (Keegan Petersen 42*, Rassie van der Dussen 41*; Stuart Broad 1-22, James Anderson 1-27) trail England 415/9 decl. by 123 runs.
