Ben Stokes continues to be positive, striking a four and a six through cover off Keshav Maharaj to enter the 80s. Foakes raised a 116-ball fifty with a couple of Lungi Ngidi. Foakes also squeezed out a yorker from Ngidi and South Africa went up in appeal for caught behind. The third umpire ruled it not out with the ball being toe-ended onto the ground before it landed in the keeper’s hands.
South Africa have opted for the second new ball straightaway. Stokes entered the 90s with a four to fine leg off Ngidi. He also had a lucky break in the same over as Markram put down a tough chance at short cover. The 150-run partnership is also up as England continue their dominance after am early wobble.
