VVS Laxman has linked up with the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team, currently in Dubai for the Asia Cup.The former India batsman, who took up the team’s coaching duties in the just-concluded three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe, has stayed back in Dubai on return from Harare. The rest of the squad (those who played in the Zimbabwe series but are not part of the Asia Cup contingent) have returned to India.
As per a BCCI release, Laxman will serve as the interim head coach of India for the August 27-Sepember 11 championship, until Rahul Dravid clears his Covid tests and travels to the UAE.
