Things went from bad to worse for England in the Lord’s Test when both Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow fell in quick succession. Root was ruled leg-before wicket off Marco Jansen by onfield umpire Nitin Menon, when he missed a full inswinging delivery and got rapped on the pads (umpire’s call on impact on leg-stump) whereas Bairstow was castled all ends up by a full and fast thunderbolt from Anrich Nortje, who took his time to get into his zone but ended up picking two big wickets in the session.
