Cheteshwar Pujara’s refreshing 79-ball 107 went in vain as Sussex failed in a 311-run chase, losing to Warwickshire by four runs. Opting to bat, Warwickshire rode on Robert Yates’s masterful ton and half-centuries from Will Rhodes (76) and Michael Burgess (58) to conclude with a strong total. Ali Orr (81) delivered the goods, supporting Pujara as they kept Sussex afloat in response. Pujara struck seven fours and two sixes during his stay before Oliver Hannon-Dalby picked up his wicket off the first ball of the 49th over. It was a tame end after that as Sussex were confined to 306/7.
