Ross Taylor has alleged that he and some other New Zealand players faced racism in New Zealand cricket. In his autobiography, Black & White, Taylor has written that the game in New Zealand was ‘a pretty white sport’.
Taylor, who bid adieu to international cricket earlier this year in April after 16 years, has a Samoan heritage from his mother’s side. He also added that more often than not, the racist comments were passed off as ‘banter’. The dependable right-hander played 112 tests, 236 ODIs, and 102 T20Is between 2006 and 2022.
