Australian Women’s skipper Meg Lanning has decided to take an indefinite break from cricket, effective immediately, for personal reasons. Cricket Australia has confirmed the captain’s decision and said that there is no timeline set for her return.
Lanning just led Australia to top honors at the Commonwealth Games, where they squuezed out a tight win against India in the summit clash. She was set to represent the Trent Rockers in the second edition of The Hundred, which she will now miss. Her availability status for the upcoming Australian domestic summer will be made known in due course.
