Australia continued their dominance in ICC events as they inflicted the mother of all strangleholds to beat India by 9 runs in a nail-biting thriller to clinch the gold medal. They remained the only team who remained unbeaten in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Beth Mooney was the star performer with the bat while Ashleigh Gardner produced a fine all-round show with 25 runs and three wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 65 runs in India’s chase but a flurry of wickets towards the end saw India concede what was a match in their bag.
