Nathan Ellis bowled London Spirit to a win over Oval Invincibles with an impressive opening spell and some fine bowling at the death in the Hundred 2022. The 27-year-old Australian quick dismissed Jason Roy with his first ball and followed up by snaring the dangerous Sam Billings to be 2-8 off his first 10 balls on Thursday.
Returning at the fag end of the 100-ball innings, Ellis bowled Jordan Cox (39 off 30) as the Invincibles almost gunned down a stiff total in front of a full house at The Oval. Set 172 to win they finished with 7-168, losing by three runs. Ellis finished with 3-28 off his four sets of five.
