Naseem Shah gets the better of in-form Dinesh Chandimal

Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal restored order in the Sri Lankan dressing room with their assured approach, tackling the Pakistani bowlers well on a turner. Angelo Mathews did take the attack to the spinners briefly – cutting and pulling Yasir Shah for fours and then going down the track to Mohammad Nawaz and hoisting him for a six. The duo was looking good to take Sri Lanka safely to Tea when a darter from Agha Salman had Mathews nicking to slip.

Chandimal didn’t help matters much as he went for an expansive drive off Naseem Shah, only to edge the ball to the wicketkeeper. Reduced to 117 for 5, Sri Lanka had found themselves in a stew despite a decent lead.
