South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first in the 3rd ODI at Headingley, as both teams named unchanged XIs in their quest for a series win, with the scoreline locked at 1-1. Keshav Maharaj backed his side to put behind the batting debacle in Friday evening’s rain-truncated affair, in which they slumped to 83 all out, their joint-lowest ODI total against England, not long after bossing the series opener with their highest score in the shires, 333 for 5 at Durham.
South Africa haven’t, although, made the best of starts with the bat as Janneman Malan gets caught at backward point by Jason Roy off David Willey.
An early strike!
