Mohammed Siraj holds his nerve to defend 15 in final over

A valiant effort with the bat from Romario Shepherd almost stole a victory for West Indies against India in the opening ODI on Friday before Mohammed Siraj held his nerve to win the ODI series opener for the visitors. India thought they had the game in the bag when the last recognized batter Brandon King was dismissed in the 45th over. But Shepherd joined forces with Akeal Hosein to lead an improbable turnaround that saw the West Indies come tantalizingly close, before falling short by just three runs in a nail-biter.
