Former England stalwart Jonathan Trott will be the new head coach of the Afghanistan Men’s team, the board has stated. He will take charge during Afghanistan’s tour of Ireland in August.
Trott, 41, has previously been associated with the England Men’s team, England Lions and the U19 sides apart from being a batting consultant to Scotland during the 2021 T20 World Cup. He drew curtains on his international career in 2018.
Afghanistan’s tour of Ireland comprises five T20Is and kicks off in Belfast on August 9.
