Shubman Gill gets off the mark with an alluring cover drive

India have raced off to a fine opening stand on a featherbed of a wicket at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. 350 from here is very much on the cards if the hosts maintain this scoring rate. West Indies need to take wickets to peg back the visitors.

Shubman Gill got off the mark with a splendid cover drive off Jayden Seales. The ball was floated up and it did swung away appreciably, but the youngster had the movement covered as he drilled the half-volley through covers. Shikhar Dhawan has played the role of an anchor while Gill teed off at the other end.
