Pakistan captain Babar Azam is in scintillating form and his stature continues to grow in world cricket. Having scored a stoic 119 in the first innings with due help from Naseem Shah, Babar fell for 55 in the visitors’ second essay at the Galle International Stadium on Tuesday. Chasing 342, Pakistan were 222/3 at Stumps on Day 4.
Abdullah Shafique ended the fourth day unbeaten on 112, with Mohammad Rizwan alongside him at the crease. Pakistan need 120 runs to win on the final day, with seven wickets in hand. The second new ball has been taken, the pitch has started to respond to the mint-conditioned cherry, and we’re in for a riveting finish.
Another day, another milestone for Babar Azam 🌟
