Jonny Bairstow misses the sweep to hear the death rattle

It might not be as breathtaking as their performance in the ODI series opener, but it’s still a superb bowling effort from India. Having won the toss, Rohit Sharma had no hesitation to bowl on a track that had some moisture trapped in it. Several English batters got starts but none of them really kicked on, and they also went through a mini-collapse of sorts, slipping from 72/1 to 102/5. Yuzvendra Chahal was the standout performer with some brave middle-overs bowling and almost all of his strikes were vital, none more than that of Jonny Bairstow just when the in-form opener was threatening to go big.
