Marnus Labuschagne compiled 104 before falling at the stroke of tea to put Australia on course for a big first innings total on Day 1 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Friday. The visitors, who are 1-0 ahead in the two-Test series, lost both their openers in the morning session after choosing to bat first after winning the toss.
Labuschagne brought up his first overseas hundred during his 134-run partnership with Steve Smith that dealt a significant blow to the morale of the Lankan attack. Labuschagne got a life on 28 when Niroshan Dickwella missed a stumping chance, and he did make the reprieve count.
