Shreyas Iyer walks right into the short-ball trap

England’s persistence has reaped the desired reward. They kept bowling short to Shreyas Iyer in search of an error and they’ve got it, just 26 balls into the right-hander’s innings. He was timing the fuller balls wonderfully well but the struggle against the short ones were as plain as a pikestaff. Matty Potts became the benefactor as he stationed five men on the leg side and went short and straight. Shreyas looked to hit his way out of trouble but ended up giving a regulation catch to James Anderson at midwicket.
