Broad strikes as Pujara fails to keep the cut along the carpet

After an easy-going first half hour with Joe Root dishing out some benign off-spin from one end, a bowling change from Ben Stokes has immediately reaped rewards for the home side. Stuart Broad replaced the former skipper and got the India opener to cut to backward point. The pace spearhead bowled it short and wide and Pujara couldn’t resist, nailing the cut straight to Alex Lees at backward point. It was a loose dismissal for a batter who’d already faced 150+ deliveries. Out comes Shreyas Iyer, and Stokes stations a leg slip for the short-pitched ploy.
