Jonny Bairstow, who already has four Test hundreds to his credit since the Ashes series, galloped to 91* as England scored 116 runs for the loss of skipper Ben Stokes in the morning session that moved at warp speed. They still trail by 216 runs but with Bairstow around and in his element, the Edgbaston Test seems to be hanging in the balance. Shardul Thakur, who had broken the partnership in his first over, was hoicked en route mid-wicket and carved through covers by Bairstow, who took a particular liking to Mohammed Siraj.
Sensational knock from @jbairstow21 👏
🏴 will hope the 🔝 Test run-getter in 2022 carries on for a daddy 💯
What a morning of cricket we’ve had here!
