Mohammad Siraj gets the prized scalp of Joe root

Clearly, emphatically, it was India’s day. England are five down and far away from India’s first-innings score. Most importantly for the visitors, they got the prized scalp of Joe Root in that final session. Mohammed Shami produced possibly the most skillful spell of the day in that final session and he was rewarded with the wicket of the nightwatchman Jack Leach. England still trail by a massive 332 and will need their overnight batters – Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes to do much of the heavy lifting tomorrow. It’s not over yet but India are definitely in firm control at present.
