Dhananjaya de Silva got Sri Lanka a wicket in the 2nd over of the day but Cameron Green and Usman Khawaja put on a 57-run stand before the stand between Green and Alex Carey shifted the momentum in Australia’s favor. While Green was adept at using his feet, Carey employed the sweeps and reverse sweeps to great effect. Carey was dismissed when the field was brought in but Green kept chipping away till he missed a sweep off Ramesh Mendis. After Mitchell Starc’s dismissal, Pat Cummins landed some hefty blows to push the lead over 100.
