Charith Asalanka leads Sri Lankan fightback with maiden ton

Charith Asalanka slammed his maiden ODI hundred at a time when Sri Lanka needed it most as they finished with a competitive score of 258 against Australia in the fourth ODI in Colombo. Dhananjaya de Silva complemented the southpaw superbly to ended up with 60.

The hosts, who were sent into bat, found themselves in deep trouble early on as Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka were all back in the hut within the first 10 overs. With Sri Lanka in a precarious position, Dhananjaya and Asalanka joined forces to stabilize the innings.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 258 in 49 overs (Charith Asalanka 110; Mitchell Marsh 2-29) v Australia
