England defeat Netherlands by a fat margin of 232 runs

An in-form England top order made mincemeat of the Dutch attack to rack up a record 498-4 in the first ODI at Amstelveen, with Phil Salt, Dawid Malan and Jos Buttler all thumping tons to see England better their own tally of 481 for the highest total ever, coming within a whisker of becoming the second team to breach the 500-mark in any recognised international cricket, and consigning the untoward record for most runs leaked in a full-status ODI to the Netherlands, who last conceded a 400+ score at the same venue against Sri Lanka some 16 years ago.
