Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell have steadied New Zealand after the quick wickets of the set batters. The centurion from Lord's has had his share of luck as he survived a leg-before appeal off left-arm spinner Jack Leach post the dropped catch by Joe Root. While Blundell has employed a sedate approach, Mitchell has been rather adventurous with his shot-making as the fifth wicket pair bring up a century stand. It has been a tough day for Root in the field as another flying nick eluded his grasp off the bowling off Leach.
