Pathum Nissanka played an ill-judged sweep to Mitchell Starc’s thunderbolt of a yorker in the series opening T20I between Australia and Sri Lanka. The right-handed opener was batting on 36 off 31 balls when the misjusgement cost him his wicket. Josh Hazlewood then scythed through the lower middle order to leave the hosts in a mess at 127/7 after 18 overs. It can be termed as a batting implosion because Sri Lanka were scoring at a fair clip in the PowerPlay. They then lost their way to give Australia the upper hand at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
