(Video) New Zealand all at sea against resurgent Jimmy

The New Zealand batters couldn’t vindicate their captain’s decision to bat first as England breathed fire with the ball. The visitors had their top and middle-order blown away on the first morning at Lord’s.

The tone was set by the resurgent England veterans – James Anderson and Stuart Broad – who had been neglected for their previous tour of West Indies. In overcast conditions, Anderson found appreciable movement off the pitch and took two wickets in his opening spell, that of Kiwi openers Tom Latham and Will Young, who was undone by a ripper of a catch from Jonny Bairstow at third slip.
