Sophie Ecclestone has done the defending job for Supernovas in the final over after they were given an almighty scare by Simran Bahadur and Laura Wolvaardt. Eventually, they hang on by 4 runs to clinch their third title in four editions. 166 on this pitch didn’t seem beyond Velocity’s reach given the potency of their lineup, but Supernovas had their plans in place and they executed them with aplomb for most of the second half. It was only in those last few overs that things got interesting, serving up an exciting finish to the tournament.
