Velocity have pulled things back superbly in Pune. At one stage Deandra Dottin and Harmanpreet Kaur were going after everything, and 180 did look pretty much on the cards. But the pacers, along with the crafty Deepti Sharma, mixed it up really well and kept striking at regular intervals to give away just 39 runs off the last five overs. Kaur took over the mantle of being the aggressor once Priya Punia fell, but Supernovas’ strategy of sending Poonam Vastrakar and Sophie Ecclestone over their more-established batters didn’t seem to pay off. They have 165 on the board.
