Ollie Robinson’s aspirations of a Test comeback have been jolted again as he had to pull out of County Select XI’s match against the touring New Zealand in Chelmsford on May 26 owing to a stiff back.
The pacer made his Test debut against New Zealand in 2021 at Lord’s and went on to capture a tally of seven wickets. In his first-ever home season, Robinson bagged 28 wickets and was equally penetrative during the Ashes series in unique conditions. On that tour, concerns about his fitness began to arise as he missed the Sydney Test due to a back spasm.
The mystery surrounding Ollie Robinson’s fitness rumbles on after the England seamer was once again forced to watch from the sidelines due to stiffness in the back.
