Brilliant knocks from Tamim Iqbal (133), Liton Das (88) and Mushfiqur Rahim (105) ushered Bangladesh into a decent position in the first Test against Sri Lanka. It was a good effort by the Bangladesh batters as they managed to gain a slender lead. The hosts also managed to take a couple of wickets before stumps to put themselves in the driving seat. They’ve effectively made sure they can’t lose this joust at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The pitch is still pretty good, and the SL batters would now have to dig in and bat the whole of tomorrow.
