(Photo) Gill’s batsmanship stands out on a difficult deck

The Pune pitch wasn’t the easiest to get runs on, but Shubman Gill navigated the challenge well. He added 52 off 41 balls along with the atypically watchful David Miller as Gujarat rebuilt steadily. Gill brought up his fifty off 42 balls and upped the ante with a couple of well-executed boundaries against Chameera. The youngster ended up with 63 to place Gujarat in a respectable position after they were found wanting at 15/3 on a pitch that wasn’t exactly a batsman’s friend.
