Reaching the landmark of 1,000 first-class runs before the end of May in the English summer is a herculean feat, but Pakistan’s Shan Masood is racking up the big scores needed to make history. Masood started his County Championship campaign for Derbyshire in blistering form, and has been among the runs ever since as he stands on the brink of a distinguished record: Masood is set to become the first man since Graeme Hick in 1988 to reach 1000 first-class runs before the end of May.
Shan Masood has scored 6️⃣1️⃣1️⃣ first-class runs in 2022, the ninth-most in the world so far 👏
He’s done it in four innings, at least two fewer than anyone above him! 🤯
