Chennai Super Kings opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has said that perishing on 99 is always painful, but the fact that he contributed to the team’s cause against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA Stadium on Sunday assuaged the hurt of falling agonizingly short of a hundred. Gaikwad’s 99 off 57 balls and an equally brisk 85* off 55 by Devon Conway helped the defending champions rack up 202/2. Sunrisers Hyderabad were only able to muster 189/6 as CSK netted a 13-run victory.
