(Video) Dean Elgar, Keegan Petersen notch up fifties

Just like in Durban, Dean Elgar spearheaded South Africa to 107 for 1 in the opening session of the second Test. After opting to bat, Elgar led from the front with the only consolation for Bangladesh being the wicket of Sarel Erwee, who went after a wide delivery from Khaled Ahmed. Elgar cruised to his third-fastest fifty in Test cricket, and his third on the trot, as he remained unbeaten on 59 off 80 at lunch with Keegan Petersen on 24 in a 55-run stand. Petersen would go on to attain his fifty before rain intervened. The right hander has looked classy as ever at the crease, providing able support to the skipper.
