Former England batter Ian Bell has joined Derbyshire as a batting consultant and will assume the role for the first two months of the season. Bell, who replaces Mal Loye, links up with a fresh coaching setup at Derbyshire helmed by head coach Mickey Arthur. Batting has been a major point of concern for the county, which avoided the wooden spoon by a whisker last season. They’ve added Pakistan batter Shan Masood as well as just-retired Sri Lanka seamer Suranga Lakmal to their roster.
