In the campaign opener of IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals were in a spot of bother at 46 for 3 at the end of the powerplay chasing 177. They managed an incredible come-from-behind win against Mumbai Indians but the same issue reared its head again in the second game. Chasing 171, they staggered to 43 for 3 against Gujarat Titans and eventually ended 15 short in Pune. So it wasn't a surprise when head coach Ricky Ponting pinned the blame on the opening six overs for their loss in the second game.
DC coach Ponting served the Capitals' top-order a warning by stressing that "for the second time in a row" did Capitals lose three wickets in the Powerplay.— Sportstar (@sportstarweb) April 3, 2022
