South Africa's lower-order chipped in before Simon Harmer dismissed Shadman Islam at the brink of Tea to help the hosts take ascendancy in the Durban Test versus Bangladesh. The visitors were 25 for 1, in reply to South Africa's 367. The opening pair of Hasan Joy and Shadman Islam negotiated the opening spells of Duanne Olivier and Lizaad Williams. Unfortunately for Bangladesh, Harmer struck in the last over before the break when he got rid of Shadman with a quicker one, with the opener hanging back. Incidentally, this is Harmer's first Test since 2015.
