Alyssa Healy and Rachel Haynes overcame a slow start – Australia had just 37 from their 9-over powerplay – to stitch Australia’s best partnership in this World Cup, combining for a gigantic 216-run stand that demoralized West Indies well before their chase could kick off. While Haynes was fluent in the powerplay, depositing anything short or overpitched to the fence, Healy was 11 off 29 at one point, and boundary-less, before turning a corner spectacularly. Once she found her element, Healy took Australia past the 50 in the 12th over and 100 by the end of the 20th while the pair both reached their fifties two overs later.
