The partnership between nightwatchman Alzarri Joseph and Kraigg Braithwaite was starting to blossom when the former ran out of patience. The ball was short and wide and there to be hit but he slapped it straight into the hands of Dan Lawrence at backward point. The fielder took a sharp reaction catch. Braithwaite, however, has moved on to 143 off 409 balls and West Indies would bank on the opener to convert it into a daddy hundred as it will compound England’s worries a great deal.
