The Indian team management has released mystery-spinner Kuldeep Yadav from the Test squad. The decision is a consequence of Axar Patel regaining full fitness, as reported by Cricbuzz. The left-arm spinner has already linked up with the Indian squad in Mohali, where the first of the two Tests against Sri Lanka ended in a clinical win for the hosts on Sunday, March 6. Although Kuldeep was not initially picked as a back-up for Axar, the team management believes there is no point in having three left-arm spinners in the side, with Ravindra Jadeja also a part of the team.
