Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar staged an incredible recovery for India in their Women’s World Cup campaign opener against Pakistan at the Bay Oval in Mount Manganui with their record-breaking stand as India stormed back to finish with 244/7 in 50 overs. Vastrakar brandished a 59-ball 67 comprising eight fours as the seventh-wicket pair stitched a 122-run stand. The partnership is not only the best for the wicket in the Women’s World Cup, but also in ODIs, bettering the 104* between New Zealand’s NJ Browne and SJ Tsukigawa in 2007 against England in Chennai.
