Sri Lanka were put to the sword by a relentless Indian attack that bagged 16 wickets on the third day of the first Test at Mohali to go 1-0 up in the series. Ravindra Jadeja finished with a sterling nine-wicket haul, backing up his marathon effort of 175 with the bat which laid the foundation of Indiaโs comprehensive victory. While conceding a 400-run first-innings lead, Sri Lanka were kept on a leash by Jadejaโs five-wicket haul, his first in Tests since 2017. And in the second, R Ashwin went past Kapil Devโs tally of 434 Test wickets to go up to the second spot in Indiaโs all-time list.
