The Marylebone Cricket Club has ruled that there is no urgent need to amend the laws of short-pitched bowling, declaring that the bouncers can stay. The ICC currently allows two bouncers, up to head height, in an over. The conclusion is based on the reasoning that the laws in place offer protection for the batters, even to the lesser-abled ones, besides keeping the bowlers in check through the penalties of a No ball and potential suspension.
